Aston Villa FC
Leading waterless in professional sports
From a single washroom trial to installation in over 200 urinal and trough locations.
-
Smarti Environmental was initially appointed to install a trial of its patented waterless urinal technology in one washroom with a suite of seven urinals at Villa Park. After just one month the benefits were obvious.
On this evidence, Aston Villa FC instructed Smarti Environmental to complete the installation of its patented technology into over 200 washroom locations, across both Villa Park and the club’s training ground.
Since then, the club has benefited from significant savings in expenditure on water, and reported reductions in maintenance costs (covering both labour and materials) equal to that amount again.
Today, Smarti Environmental's work continues with Aston Villa FC in collaborating on the development of waterless urinal technology.
University Hospitals Bristol
Money saved & improved infection control
Finding substantial water and cost savings from a “Pay As You Save” service contract.
-
In August 2017, Smarti Environmental introduced its water-free urinal technology at NHS University Hospitals Bristol, covering five male washrooms with a total of 15 converted urinals.
Under a ‘Pay As You Save’ service contract, we provided three annual maintenance visits, plus a full call-out guarantee.
Over 23 months, the hospital saved approximately 6,969,000 litres of water, equating to a cost saving of £15,122.73 — significantly exceeding the total service costs of £6,457.48.
Feedback from University Hospitals Bristol has been positive, with minimal maintenance issues and no complaints.
Smarti Environmental's collaboration with the NHS continues, supporting sustainable solutions in healthcare facilities as they strive for increased infection control – something our patented triple-valve system guarantees.
Castle Rock Brewery
Money saved & improved infection control
Spanning brewery and pub locations, saving over 10 million litres of water and thousands in costs.
-
Castle Rock Brewery first implemented Smarti Environmental's waterfree urinal technology in November 2015, converting eight urinals across four male washrooms at their brewery and three pub locations in Nottingham.
Operating on a supply-only basis, Castle Rock independently managed the fitting and maintenance, while we provided ongoing consumables.
Over 65 months, our system saved approximately 10,249,200 litres of water, translating to a cost reduction of £21,215.84. The cost of our service totalled just £6,009.90 in comparison.
The brewery still reports no call-outs and consistently positive performance without customer complaints.
Sandwell College
Savings and exceptional service in education
From an initial installation in one building to expanded adoption across multiple facilities.
-
Since April 2019, Sandwell College in West Bromwich has benefited from Smarti Environmental’s full-service, waterfree urinal technology under a 'Pay As You Save' plan.
Serving over 3,600 daily students, our system spans eight male washrooms with 30 converted urinals in the main building.
Over a period of 44 months, the college saved approximately 14,454,000 litres of water, translating to a cost savings of £30,353.40.
The total service costs, including consumables and a recent expansion to a second facility, stand at £17,058.33.
Estates Manager Tony Millard commended Smarti Environmental for our competitive pricing, exceptional service, and product quality, which led the college to expand their waterfree technology further in 2021.
